Lupton/Miller: Pictographs

I found another great example of limited vocabulary, more specifically pictographs. This is from Design Writing Research: Writing on Graphic Design by Ellen Lupton and J. Abbot Miller. 

The gender bias pointed out in the last two lines would’ve gone over my head, so it’s a important sort of cautionary tale.
